There isn't just one single canon when talking about Sub City. Instead, there's an entire multiverse of possibilities for those pink little dudes! Read up on all of the Kens Universes (KUs) here. As of the Hourglass Naming System, each KU is sorted under an hourglass based on how similar they are to each other. The zeros in the Hourglass Naming System (HNS) work similar to decimals- if a number says 32.00, that's the same as the number 32. Same with the HNS- if a KU says KU-1-0, it can also be called KU-1, and KU-2-0 can be called KU-2, and same with KU-3-0, and so on.
In this universe, kenses are mere street animals, similar to your average raccoon or bird. They go into people's homes to live in their birthday cakes and eat their candles! Here, the first description ever written for a kens can be applied. Here is that desc:
Name: Kens
Color: Pink(Female Version) Purple(Male Version)
Description: A small, pink/purple bean that has a horn on its head if it’s female, and a crown-shaped object on its head if it’s male. They burrow into birthday cakes as their habitat, and are very aggressive. They communicate exclusively with clicking sounds, and eat the birthday candles on the cake they’re living in as food. They only need one candle per month so depending on how many candles are on the cake they can last that amount of time. If someone’s turning 7, there will be 7 candles and therefore 7 months is the amount of time that a kens would live in there. If there are no candles on a cake, the kens will never even burrow into the cake in the first place as there’s nothing for them to eat in there. If there are 12 candles, the kens would stay there for a full year. I’m pretty sure you get the gist by now. After a male and a female mate, the egg would stay in the birthday cake that they were in, and the male would bring over candles from other birthday cakes to eat so that they don’t constantly move between birthday cake to birthday cake. The female, meanwhile, will stay and protect the egg. Once the egg hatches, the female and male would abandon the baby to fend for themselves. This nature is why the kens are endangered. The babies, however, have wings. They immediately know how to fly from birth, and lose their wings when they grow up.

This universe is where the "Suboyocalypse" game was supposed to take place. It follows a woman named Jen as she tried to defeat a world-conquering computer virus. Because it wasn't very kens-oriented, it was ultimately scrapped.
This universe is where the upcoming "Frogge" game will take place. It follows a mutated frog as it tries to get revenge against humanity for its crimes.

This universe is where the yet-to-be-released video game, "Sub City Fighters" takes place.
This universe is where the hypothetical video game, "Sub City Simulator" takes place.
The events of this universe are purely based off of an event on our Discord, titled the "WaveBoye Event," where users tried to figure out who the spy was in the server. Though the event initially receieved negative reception, it was quite ahead of its time in that it existed before any kens lore was established (other than the original bio), making it the second-oldest Kens Universe. It was originally planned to have 2 sequels. Nowadays, you can participate in the making of KU-3's story by roleplaying in the "Poorly Written Sub City RP" category of the Discord server.
This is currently the only Kens Universe where countries other than Sub City are acknowledged. KU-4 has its own long and complex history, so it fittingly has its own wiki.
